Box making: Veneer and Marquetry with Beatriz Zuazo

Beatriz Zuazo (entrevetas) is a woodworker at Casa de la Fusta.

In her course you will learn two fine woodworking techniques applied to box making: veneer and marquetry.

Veneering consists of gluing thin sheets of solid wood (veneer) on a particle board to achieve a piece with the appearance of solid wood but with the necessary stability to make them fit perfectly.

On the other hand, marquetry is a decorative technique that consists of joining different types of veneer to create geometric patterns.

With these two techniques you will make two veneered boxes that fit together in a piston fit, decorated with your own marquetry design.
